Today marks the start of my “Happiness in Baking Project”. I will try simple recipes for an amateur baker like me that finds fun and amusement in making delightful goodies. I don’t have an electric mixer, I just have a whisk and my strong, big arms and hands. My oven’s just a little bit bigger than an oven toaster, but my interest and curiosity for baking is as big as the Charlie’s Bakery in Capetown.

I used whole wheat flour, reduced the sugar, added chopped walnuts, dried cherries and sprinkled some orange zest. Yum! Move over Famous Amos, I can make my own cookies now!
